MURFEST is back once again for another year of fun and fitness. It’s possible you’ve fallen behind on your health and wellness resolutions for 2017, but it’s not too late to make amends. If you’re wondering whether you should get tickets to MURFEST, here are 10 reasons why you should participate in MURFEST 2017!
1) Awesome Masterclasses
Joining any of the Masterclasses will expose you to comprehensive lessons taught by highly skilled and passionate health and wellness individuals. It is a great way to pick up new techniques of yoga, dance and fitness, whether you are a wellness enthusiast or a budding trainer yourself. What’s more, all those who sign up for the Masterclasses (note that these are separate from the FULL FESTIVAL Passes) will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
2) Amazing Learning Opportunities
Imagine being under one roof with over 80 artists, teachers and trainers from all over the world – all there for the sole purpose of teaching. With an integrated event like this, participants can learn beyond one discipline of fitness. It is particularly suitable for those who are interested in music, dance and yoga.
3) Connect with Like-Minded Individuals
In addition to meeting and watching the masters at work, you will also have the chance to mingle and network with like-minded people who prioritize wellness. Making new friends who share the same interests is always a good thing, and is especially rewarding for those who don’t already have workout buddies.
4) Shop at Just Be Markets
It’s not just classes you will enjoy there. There are many vendors who have signed up to support MURFEST with their merchandise, products, food and others. Called the Just Be Markets, some vendors include My Ola Foods, The Stretch Clinic, and Kinetix, among others. You will be able to browse through the various booths and shop around for any items you like.
5) Join A Huge Dance Party
Another enjoyable activity to partake in would be the GLOKL 2017 party. It’ll be held on 4th November, from 6pm until midnight. It’s a glow in the dark party where dance and Salsation lovers will get to groove along to Live DJ sets. Salsation’s founder Alejandro Angulo as well as some local and international Salsation Elite trainers will join in too. This is a standalone party so tickets are separate from MURFEST itself, but participants will receive door gifts, a t shirt and glo sticks.
6) Fun for the whole family
Those with kids needn’t worry about engaging a babysitter. Just get the kids involved too! On Saturday and Sunday, there are workshops geared towards the kids, so feel free to sign them up for Kidz Zone. Kids will also get to participate in child-friendly dance, yoga and music workshops, while parents enjoy their own activities.
7) It’s a form of self-care
Too often, we get caught up with work and other matters and neglect our own needs. If you want to take care of your health and wellness, this is the perfect place to start. Once you start prioritizing self-care, health and wellness needs will also come into play. Think of it as a form of therapy.
8) Surround Yourself With Good Vibes
Exercise has many benefits – and usually result in an endorphin boost. Besides refreshing you physically, your mental state will also be vastly improved. As more people become aware on mental health issues, we can see that exercise is increasingly becoming a popular way of getting people to be active and happy.
9) Make It a Personal Retreat
If planning a holiday overseas is not feasible, perhaps a retreat within the city but away from the familiarity of your daily life would be the next best thing. MURFEST is going to be held at Le Meridien Putrajaya, and there are room packages available for those who intend to participate. It will be a convenient option so that you’re never late or stuck in traffic, and miss out on workshops. Plus, it can be a mini-staycation as well.
10) Meet Your Fitness Icons
With a roster that features some of the most prolific names in health and wellness, MURFEST certainly has the cream of the crop. This includes a host of local personalities as well, like Atilia Haron, Jojo Struys and Davina Goh, to name a few. There are experts representing Asia, Europe, Australia and America as well, so check out the line-up to see who will be there.
