This hidden café located on the outskirts of Chinatown will surely delight with their nostalgic vibes and amazing food. Housed in a repurposed Chinatown shophouse, a lot of its rustic appeal is preserved, making it a great background for your Insta pictures. They have also recently launched a private seating area on their balcony where you can dine with your friends or family while overlooking a beautiful courtyard pool. Just take note that you will need to make reservations at least one day in advance as seats are limited and walk-ins for their balcony by the pool tables will not be accepted.

2. The Swimming Club

Head up to the 11th floor of the boutique hotel The KL Journal after a tiring day in the city to catch some sunset vibes at their rooftop pool lounge. Sporting a unique name that roughly translates to political corruption – Kafe Kleptorat certainly catches your attention not just with their name but also with their charming and vintage vibes. It is located next to Timothy; hence they share the same view of the beautiful courtyard pool. But for customers of Kafe Kleptorat, they will be able to seat next to the pool as they enjoy their meal. Serving a combination of local cuisines and some international food, enjoy a mini getaway with your friends and family when you are at Kafe Kleptorat. Take note that the weekends can get pretty busy for them, so do expect to spend some time queueing.

4. Lodge Paradize Poolside

Located in the middle of a concrete jungle, Paradize Poolside Coffeehouse is an urban oasis where you can tuck into a selection of delicious local and international favourites as you dine by the pool. Overall customer reviews have been positive with many praising their excellent food along with the poolside ambiance that is cozy and refreshing. A favourite for birthday celebrations, special events and romantic dinner dates, Subak is a Muslim-owned restaurant located in Bukit Lanjan. Did you know Subak’s name originated from the water irrigation system in the paddy fields of Bali? Not surprising then that they serve Balinese-inspired food along with Malay and Western dishes that are enjoyed and complimented by many.
