7 Yummy-licious Doughnut Places In Klang Valley

Craving for some classic sugar-glazed doughnuts? Or perhaps the ones with sweet fillings on the inside, namely strawberry jam or dark chocolate? Well, instead of focusing on the more well-known establishments such as Dunkin’ and Big Apple Donuts & Coffee, let’s dig into our pick of 7 Yummy-licious Doughnut Places In Klang Valley.

1) Kopi Lain Hati

Kopi Lain Hati, which made its Malaysian debut this year, turns out to be one of the fastest-growing coffee chains in Indonesia. They are renowned for their in-house preservatives-free coffee using only quality beans. Other than coffee and non-coffee varieties, their menu also consists of light bites such as sandwiches and doughnuts. The latter comes in a set of four served on an Insta-worthy wooden tray. They offer different flavours like Buttercream Cheese, Cookies & Cream and Nutella. The fillings dominate the top of their doughnuts, which can be messy upon holding them. Even so, I do enjoy their little bite-sized shapes and they sure complement well with a cup of hot/cold beverage.

2) Sugar and I

Ever heard of bombolonis? They are basically Italian doughnuts minus the holes in the middle and contain typically sweet fillings on the inside. Subang Jaya-based Sugar and I are particularly famous for them, where they use only quality ingredients. And that means everything from the flour to fillings and even its icing sugar, dusted around the surface of the bombolonis. Most customers who bought them love the bomboloni’s light and fluffy bite. The filling taste delicious too. When comes to choices, Sugar and I offer various flavours like Strawberry Jam, Lotus Biscoff and Nutella.

Address: 110, Jalan SS 14/1, Subang Jaya, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor.

3) Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee

Be it cronuts (short for “croissant doughnuts”) or doughnuts, Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee has them all right here. All their baked goods are made fresh from scratch on a daily basis. They only use the best ingredients available with none of those artificial nasties. First-timers might want to try their top-selling Salted Egg Yolk Cronut/Doughnut. The reasons? It has a soft and fluffy texture on the outside. Not to mention it pairs well with the savoury goodness of salted egg yolk filling on the inside. They also have other flavours like Cream & Oreo, Peanut Butter & Choc, Speculoos and Ovomaltine.

4) Hari Hari Dough

Hari Hari (or “every day” in the Malay language) Dough specialises in artisanal doughnuts. They only operate during the weekends and they made their doughnuts fresh. In other words, it’s best to consume them within 3 hours after pick-up. Their doughnuts taste soft and fluffy upon every bite. Not only they do not skimp on the fillings but they also use quality ingredients. Some of their recommended doughnuts include Sugar & Spice, where they offer a distinctive twist to the classic sugar-glazed varieties by adding cinnamon as well. Then, there’s “Pancakes”. Think of it as a doughnut version of pancakes, which combines the sweetness of maple syrup and vanilla sugar glaze. If you plan to purchase their doughnuts, do keep in mind you need to order a minimum of four pieces. Order right here.

5) Orito KL

A popular bakery in Plaza Damas, Orito KL is known for its freshly-baked goods, notably choux pastry (the hazelnut-based Paris Brest and Chocolate Salted Caramel). Their doughnuts are no slouch either and many customers agreed too. Light and airy on the outside and their fillings are equally delicious. Among the doughnuts worth trying here include Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel. The only downside about their doughnuts? Prices are rather on the high side, especially given their use of quality ingredients and the fact that each baked good is handcrafted.

Well, they are known for their slow-fermented sourdough baked goods made in small batches. If you love doughnuts, do try their sourdonuts. It has a nice, fluffy bite to it and they are generous with the fillings too. And according to the customer reviews, they taste good too.
