Quench Your Thirst At These 7 Places for Coconut Shakes in Klang Valley

Drinking coconut water is both hydrating and refreshing. Then, there are coconut shakes. A simple but yummy blend of coconut, ice and ice cream (typically vanilla or coconut flavour), resulting in a thick and creamy beverage. Perfect for hot weather or any time you need something sweet, here is where you can quench your thirst at these 7 places for coconut shakes in Klang Valley.

1) 37° Coco Lab

Looking for a refreshing coconut drink in Nu Sentral? Here’s one for you on the lower ground floor opposite Hanbing Korean dessert — a kiosk named 37° Coco Lab that specialises in all things coconut.

I have tried their Classic Coconut Shake and it was one of the best of its kind I ever tasted in the Klang Valley area. The ratio between the coconut juice, coconut milk and coconut ice cream are all well-combined without overpowering each other. It’s thick, smooth and creamy too while the coconut flesh and coconut flakes add some extra bites to your drink.

Apart from their Classic Coconut Shake, they also have other varieties like Coconut Banana Shake, Coconut Mango Shake and even Coconut Watermelon Shake.

Address: Lot LG52, Nu Sentral Shopping Centre, 201, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Kuala Lumpur Sentral, 50470 Kuala Lumpur.

2) Memorie

This cafe may have been famous for its Eurasian cuisines like Portuguese Ikan Bakar and Eurasian Chicken Stew. But their Iced Coconut Shake is no slouch either and I had no expectations at all when I ordered this drink for the first time. It comes in a tall cup and upon the first few sips, it tastes smooth and refreshing enough with all the creamy coconut goodness. Best paired with their signature fresh-out-of-the-oven Portuguese egg tart(s).

Address:

(Sungai Besi) 1, Jalan 11/108c, Taman Sungai Besi, 57100 Kuala Lumpur.

(Sunway Velocity Mall) Level 1, Lingkaran SV, Maluri, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

(Sunway Pyramid) G1.PT.05 & 06, Level Ground Floor, Sunway Pyramid, 3, Jalan PJS 11/15, Sunway City, 47500 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

3) Signature by Coolconut

Located in the less-populated area of Bandar Puchong Jaya, Signature by Coolconut serves mainly Western and Asian fusion foods. But let’s talk about their beverages and more significantly, the signature coconut shakes. They have different types available here, covering from Original Vanilla Coconut Shake to unique concoctions like Teh Tarik Coconut Shake and Purple Sweet Potato Coconut Shake.

I managed to try their Signature Gula Melaka Coconut Shake — a heavenly smooth and creamy coconut-shake combo with the distinct sweetness of Gula Melaka. I was initially worried it was going to be overly sweet but thankfully, that was not the case. The overall sweetness is well-balanced and I can’t wait to try their other flavours the next time I visit this cafe again.

Address: 22, Jalan OP 1/3, Bandar Puchong Jaya, 47160 Puchong, Selangor.

4) Coco Loca

Coco Loca specialises in all things coconut. And we mean everything from pandan coconuts to coconut puddings, coconut jellies and of course, coconut shakes. To date, they have over 35 outlets nationwide from Klang Valley to Johor, Perak and Negeri Sembilan. I have tried their original coconut shake in one of Coca Loca’s outlets in LaLaport. It was expectedly refreshing, creamy and sweet while the coconut flakes add some textures to the drink.

5) M Coconut Shake

Formerly Morib Coconut Shake, M Coconut Shake has three Klang Valley outlets available in Bandar Baru Ampang, Taman Maluri and Spectrum Mall. Not only do they sell the original version but also other assorted flavours including caramel, chocolate and strawberry. Available in regular or large (big cup) size, I have tried their original version. It is both cooling and creamy and doesn’t taste overly sweet. Finally, if you prefer to level up your coconut shake, consider adding some toppings such as Oreo and chocolate rice.

Address:

(Bandar Baru Ampang) Bandar Baru Ampang, 68000 Ampang, Selangor

(Taman Maluri) 37, Jalan Jejaka 2, Maluri, 55100 Kuala Lumpur

(Spectrum Mall) Lot-14 Ampang Walk, Spectrum Mall, 68000 Ampang, Selangor

6) Zus Coffee

Okay, I didn’t expect to find a coconut shake here in Zus Coffee — the local coffee chain that is known for its affordable caffeinated beverages (at least when you compare them with the you-know-which international coffee chains).

Back to their coconut shake, they don’t literally name it as such but rather Snowy Coconut Frappe. What you get here is a creamy concoction of coconut, vanilla and santan (coconut milk) with a choice of whipped cream on top. You can even caffeinate your coconut shake with an espresso shot as well as add toppings (mango bits or chocolate chip) or drizzle (caramel, chocolate or Gula Melaka) for a fraction of the price.

7) Yo! Coconut

Yo! Coconut has two kiosks that are strategically located in Ansa Walk Bukit Bintang and MyTown Shopping Centre. Expect the usual coconut shake and according to most customer reviews, they love the creaminess and thickness of the refreshing drink. But if you prefer other than the original version, Yo! Coconut got you covered here with assorted flavours like Gula Melaka, purple rice, cendol, pandan and red bean, just to name a few.

(Ansa Bukit Bintang) Lot S7, Ansa Sidewalk Island, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur
