Marvel turns 10! And for the first time ever in Malaysia, Marvel is setting up an exhibition! From 28th June to 27th October 2019, all you Avengers can assemble at Pavilion KL to celebrate your favourite movies and characters. We were lucky enough to attend the launch, and here’s what you can expect at the exhibition!
Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes
A multi-sensory world featuring interactive and immersive experiences, the Marvel exhibition features ten different galleries, each focusing on a different world and/or character. There are original movie props, posters and costumes, as well as several interactive experiences. Not only can you watch Iron Man suit up, but you can also change Captain Marvel’s outfit colour and watch yourself get decimated by Thanos. Last but not least, pick up some official merchandise on your way out – there’s a retail at the end of the exhibition!
Pro tip: Whatever you see behind a glass case is the original, so make sure you snap photos of those!
Who’s There?
As aforementioned, there are ten different galleries in the exhibition. We’ll quickly run you through them but we won’t give too much away. Gallery features in chronological order:
- Iron Man
- Captain America
- Thor
- Doctor Strange
- The Guardians of the Galaxy
- Black Panther
- Ant-Man
- Captain Marvel
- The Avengers
- The Collector’s Museum
Pro tip: For children under 12, remember to grab a Marvel’s Avengers activity booklet at the entrance of the exhibition. Then, at relevant galleries, stamp the booklet with the provided stamps. After you’ve collected all stamps, you may then redeem your very own Marvel badge at the end of the exhibition!
Malaysia’s Very Own Superhero
When we say that, who do you think of first? Well, at the launch, we were graced by the presence of none other than our PM, Tun Dr. Mahathir and his wife, Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah! There was no better candidate than him to kick off the exhibition, and it was indeed a grand sight as lights flared and Thanos’ gauntlet was raised. With Tun M’s presence and approval, how could you not want to drop by and check it out?
Pro tip: You may not be able to see Tun M himself, but you can become a superhero yourself. All you have to do is remember to take a photo at the Marvel’s Avengers ID Station before you begin your exhibition journey. Then, before you leave, collect your personalised Avengers ID card at the Collection Counter located in the retail area. Congratulations, you are now an Avenger!
