Taobao is a very popular Chinese online shopping platform which is owned by the Alibaba Group. In fact, it’s so popular that it’s considered as the world’s largest e-commerce website. And now the shopping platform will be bringing a physical store to Cheras!
Time to check our bank accounts! Taobao will be introducing the largest physical store in MyTOWN, Cheras. This is part of their efforts to bridge together the offline and online shopping experience.
Furthermore, it’s great for bananas like me who can’t navigate through the website. Shopping on their website can be difficult for some because it is entirely in Chinese. So it can be hard to read up on the details of products that we want to know.
Meanwhile, it’s also a good alternative for anyone who still prefers the physical way of shopping. There’s just something therapeutic about physically holding a product and purchasing it.
Moving on, the Taobao store will be taking up 5,000 sqft of retail space to ensure that you get the best shopping experience. It will be opening on the 29th of November at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, Cheras.
The store will offer a wide range of items which are considered to be amongst the best sellers. Customers can pick up the products to get a feel and test it out before purchasing, something not available via online shopping.
However, the store is also an effort to bring together both the offline and online shopping experiences. You will need to make your payment via the Taobao app via a QR code on the app that they will need to scan. But don’t worry, there will be plenty of helpful staff on hand to guide you through the process.
