Havana Bar & Grill has been the buzz of Changkat Bukit Bintang. They now have a weekly schedule of Kizomba Tuesdays, and Salsa Sundays where visitors are welcomed to take free beginner classes or an open level class with a charged fee. Salsa classes and Kizomba classes are conducted by Güpson Pierre, and Azlan & Mabel respectively. Once you’ve learnt the basics, it’s time to put them on the dance floor with Kizomba, Salsa, Bachata and Latin music being played all night long. 2) Twenty20Two

Twenty20Two (word-number-word) caters to various events and performances that was first opened and owned by Orangecow Studios in 2016. KL Swing! currently partners with them to host ‘Tuesday Night Swing’ on a weekly basis for a 1-hour drop-in beginner’s class, followed by a session of public social dancing. Entrance fee is a minimum of RM15, inclusive of 1 drink ticket. Who needs swag when you’ve got swing?

3) Sid’s Pub Bangsar South

Sid’s Pub (Bangsar South branch) is a British pub that serves awesome British pub grub with their vision on creating a friendly community. For many years, they are known for opening their floors to the social dance scene. They now partner with Blues Dancing KL to host ‘Move To The Blues’ every Wednesday night. There’s no cover charge for the event, so tag along a friend and sway to the rhythm!

Formerly known as ‘Friendster Cafe’, Friendscino is the abbreviation of ‘friends’ and ‘Culture Is Not Optional’ (CINO). Catch them on the weekends because that’s when the dance floors are open! Zouktopia (Zouk socials) happens every Friday night, whereas the sizzling bachata and salsa dance party is hosted every Saturday night. 5) The Lounge @ Pullman Hotel Bangsar

In the recent years, the tango has gained popularity among the social dancing scene in KL. Del Sabor is a milonga (tango dance parties) that is held every Wednesday with a 30 minute introductory tango class prior to the event. Music will rotated between traditional, modern and alternative tandas. With a cover charge of RM 10, tangueros get special discounts on food and drinks.
