Rainforest Lumina: Singapore Zoo’s Bright Attraction

Have you ever been to a rainforest that’s draped all over with lights? Neither have I, but Singapore Zoo is offering everyone that chance! A night walk attraction, Rainforest Lumina will only be there for a limited amount of time, so don’t miss it!

First things first… Check out the magical map!

The trail is one-kilometre long, and according to its website, it is “a multimedia night walk on the wild side”. I don’t know about you, but the map actually evokes Harry Potter feelings inside of me. Well, it could be the Forbidden Forest, but a pleasanter version.

The Creature Crew

You won’t be alone on your journey! The Creature Crew, who are “a quirky group of unlikely heroes”, will be there to accompany and guide you through the walk. They even have a motto: “We Are One”. This motto represents the crew’s belief that each and every species, no matter human or animal, has something to contribute to the rainforest. Sounds something straight out of Lion King, doesn’t it? “It’s the circle of life, and it moves us all.” However, the live animals of Singapore Zoo will not be part of Rainforest Lumina, because they’ll all be sleeping by then. If any of you wish to view animals at the same time, you can visit the Night Safari as well.

Interact and Learn!

The features in Rainforest Lumina are interactive, and are designed to create more awareness and empathy for nature. So it’s not all just looking at pretty lights, but you’ll pick up a thing or two on the way as well, and hopefully love Mother Nature more. For worried animal advocates that are concerned whether the animals will be disturbed, fret not. Singapore Zoo has taken great care to ensure that this set up will be of minimal disturbance to their in-house residents!

Last but not least, details?

Admission fees are SGD 22 for adults, and SGD 16 for children from 3 to 12 years old. For those who are not Singaporean, flight ticket prices; toll prices; petrol prices; and accommodation fees will vary. Also, the admission fee for Rainforest Lumina does not include access to other parks/attractions, so don’t syok sendiri and think that this fee covers everything! Besides that, since it’s a night walk, you can only visit it from 7:30 pm to 12 midnight. There will be seven entry times daily, and the last entry is at 10:30 pm, so don’t go too late.

Rainforest Lumina is brought to you by Wildlife Reserves Singapore and Moment Factory in conjunction with Singapore Zoo’s 45th anniversary. A seasonal attraction, Rainforest Lumina will only be available for a limited time starting July 2018, so don’t wait till the lights burn out!
