The Glasshouse is a perfect place to be, where they offer a fine selection of savoury and sweet goodies. Nicknamed the “Afternoon Affair”, indulge the likes of Spicy Chilli Shrimps and Roasted Chicken with Pesto. Other fancy bites, covering from Chocolate Choux Pastry to Honeycomb Sponge Gateau and the good old-fashioned English scones round up the choices served in a 3-tiered platter. Finally, the menu comes with a pot of exquisite TWG tea — all of which are priced at RM78 for 2 persons.

2) Guest Lounge at Macalister Mansion
The charming interior, coupled with the fact that Macalister Mansion is actually a refurbished century-old colonial mansion makes dining at Guest Lounge all the more memorable. For their afternoon tea set, they do not serve them in the usual 3-tier platter but rather on a partitioned wooden tray. The set includes a pot of tea of your choice (e.g. English Breakfast, Earl Grey) with seasonal bite-sized savouries & sweets ranging from Beef Taco Grilled Cheese Sandwich to Tiramisu Dates Creme Brulee and Hojicha Eclair. If you prefer something else to drink, you can opt for coffee or top up with an additional price for a glass of wine.
3) Palm Court at E&O Hotel
Palm Court’s English Afternoon Tea set serves from 3 pm to 5 pm daily, offering familiar favourites that happen to be very popular among many customers. Expect freshly-made delicious bites like finger sandwiches, mini cakes and tarts. Scone lovers, in the meantime, can look forward to these yummy baked goods served with cream and strawberry jam. And not to forget, a choice of tea to complement with your assorted treats.
4) David Brown’s Restaurant and Tea Terraces
Here’s the hilltop restaurant located at Strawberry Hill, where you can enjoy a nice cup of tea while taking a few bites at some of the delicious afternoon tea snacks regardless of indoors or outdoors. Specifically for two pax, the set includes English scones, mini pastries, canapes, fruits and sandwiches served in a 3-tier platter with a pot of tea. Other than the usual afternoon tea set, you can also go for “Le Petit Four” or “Devonshire Cream Tea”.
5) Suffolk House Restaurant
Words like “elegant” and “opulent” are best described for Suffolk House, a refurbished Georgian mansion that has been around for two centuries. The mansion, which has since become a restaurant in 2009, offers an afternoon tea special from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm daily. The 2-person set comes with a choice of tea and a 3-tier serving tray consisting of sweet and savoury goodness. Among the bite-sized goodies available include finger sandwiches, freshly-baked scones with whipped cream, butter & various jams on the side, fruit tarts and mini cakes.
6) 2PM Lounge at G Hotel Kelawai
2PM Lounge features a cosy interior, where you can sit back and relax and enjoy some good coffee. They serve an afternoon tea menu as well for just RM60 per set of two persons. You will get a pot of tea of your choice as well as assorted savouries and sweets. Expect bite-sized goodies like Cheese & Lettuce Sliders, Mini Croissants with Tuna Mayo, Longan Fruit Tarts and Strawberry Shortcake, all neatly arranged in a 3-tier platter.
7) TopView Restaurant & Lounge

Head chef Kevin Ng doesn’t settle for the ordinary when comes to serving its eclectic array of the afternoon-tea menu. Available for 1 person (RM80) and 2 persons (RM150), Communal Table by gēn 根 features both savoury and sweet bites designed to tantalise your taste bud. Among them include the likes of Corn Croquettes, Kaffir Lime Chicken Wings, Gula Melaka Pie and Brown Butter Sable Macaroon, just to name a few. A choice of tea such as the light & smooth Boh Palas Supreme and the fruity Boh Hibiscus Zest is included as well. But if you prefer another beverage instead, you can do so by asking one of the friendly staff.
9) Platform 9 3/4 Fine Dining & Cellar
If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the restaurant is inspired by Harry Potter’s iconic railway station platform. No doubt a must-visit for Harry Potter fans and those who prefer a themed afternoon tea experience for a change, the quidditch game-inspired wooden platter consists of assorted savoury and sweet treats. Expect the likes of sandwiches, tarts and scones with clotted cream & jam served with a cup of coffee or tea.
10) Orinea by Farquhar Mansion
Surrounded by the glass-walled interior overlooking the majestic sea view, Orinea by Farquhar Mansion is no doubt an ideal dining place if you are here for an afternoon tea. Served in a golden hot air balloon-like prop with three mini-tier trays and a huge rounded one on the bottom, the set comes with a delectable mix of savoury and sweet bites. For two persons, you’ll get a pot of tea and others like puff pastry, cheese logs, mini cakes and macaroons.
