Amidst the hustle and bustle of Suria KLCC shopping mall lies a contemporary art gallery on Level 3 that needs no introduction: the Galeri Petronas. Originally established at Dayabumi Complex back in 1992, the gallery has since relocated to KLCC six years later where it boasts a bigger space spanning 2,000 sq metres. Galeri Petronas exhibits a diverse range of artworks created by both local and foreign artists. The gallery also held other programmes such as talks and workshops. Admission is free.

Galeri Chandan

Located at Solaris Dutamas, Galeri Chandan provides ample space for local artists to promote various kinds of art pieces to the public. The gallery also holds the bi-annual Malaysian Emerging Artist Award (MEAA) to honour the country’s most promising up-and-coming talents. In 2012, Galeri Chandan showcased the Pahang-born Mohd Al-Khuzairie’s futuristic-themed exhibition known as “Platoon”, one of the 2009 winners of the MEAA. He utilised ceramics as his primary medium to craft art pieces ranging from humanoids to superheroes-like figurines.
