Say goodbye to struggling to get the attention of the boss at mamaks or worrying if they can break your big note. You can now order and pay via the WeChat Pay app at selected outlets. So convenient!

Yes, now with the WeChat Pay app you can simply sit down at a mamak and whip out your phone. All you have to do is scan the QR code available at your table.

Browse through the menu and select your order. Next, click on ‘cart’ to review your order before tapping on ‘pay’. You will be asked to confirm your order before you make the payment via the app.

Then you just sit back and wait for your delicious food to arrive.

However, please take note that this function is only available at certain mamaks. This includes ABC Foods Corner and Syed Bistro. Click here for the full list of participating outlets.

Also, there is a little treat. If you use the WeChat Pay app and spend a minimum of RM8, you will receive RM3 off. However, this is only valid until the 31st of July.

Technology has really advanced over the past decade. We now have so many options of e-wallet with each bringing their own benefits.

Our most popular e-wallet is probably GrabPay which is integrated under Grab, an e-hailing ride service. GrabPay offers users a lot of benefits such as promotions and deals.

Another e-wallet popular in Malaysia is Boost. With Boost users can pay bills, go shopping, and enjoy great deals and discount vouchers.

GrabPay and Boost are also available in many different merchants from food to retail.

E-wallets can bring about many benefits but of course the main one is that you do not have to rely on cash.
