Once again, the food mashup craze rears its head. After the nasi lemak burger by McDonald’s, here comes KFC Singapore with three new products. The new products are released in conjunction with their National Day, and include KFC Goldspice Chicken, Chocolate Fries, and Chocolate Hazelnut Egg Tarts.
KFC Goldspice Chicken
It’s spicy, and it’s golden. Does it give you a clue as to what is it? Why, it’s none other than salted egg yolk chicken, of course! If you’re already imagining glorious pieces of fried chicken drizzled generously with salted egg yolk sauce, you can stop now. It isn’t the sauce-y type. Instead, this is how they do it. First, they marinate the chicken in KFC’s “signature” hot and crispy marinade. Then, it is breaded and fried to golden perfection. To add the finishing touch, they then coat a mixture of salted egg, chilli, curry leaves and sweet basil over the chicken!
Chocolate Fries
This is simply straightforward, as in fries + chocolate. KFC’s fries are simply drizzled with hot, thick chocolate sauce, although the sauce isn’t of a large quantity, mind you. If you’re one of those people who love sweet and salty flavours clashing on your tastebuds, this is your new match made in heaven. Otherwise, you might want to sit this one out.
Chocolate Hazelnut Egg Tart
If you still have space after the chicken and fries, try this, because it does sound enticing. Instead of getting a normal egg tart, why not bite into a soft egg custard with an accompanying dollop of chocolate right in the middle of the tart? Dessert-lovers and those with a sweet tooth will definitely fall head-over-heels in love with this sweet treat!

These special products will only be available till 9th August 2018, so hurry up if you want to try them out! Besides that, according to weekender.com.sg, the chocolate fries are only available at selected KFC outlets, but they didn’t say anything about the other two products. The outlets are Jurong Point, Causeway Point, Tampines CPF Building, Kallang Stadium, Compass One, Sun Plaza 2, Choa Chu Kang Lot 1, Waterway Point, Tampines Hub and NEX.
