Not Your Traditional Christmas
What do you usually think of when it comes to Christmas? The colours red and green, reindeers and sleighs, pine trees topped with multi-coloured lights and a bright star? Well, expect none of these at 1 Utama, as they are thinking out of the box and looking forward in time! At the mall’s lower ground concourse, discover holographic giant crystals in place of trees. These triangular crystals are stacked artfully to create domes, and each dome houses a different store, allowing you to get your Christmas shopping done while admiring the reflective decorations.
A Time for Reflection
1 Utama is actually Malaysia’s pioneer eco-mall, and they have taken steps to preserve our environment through various methods. The reflections made by these crystals are more than fun, they are actually a message to reflect within. The earth belongs to all of us, and as citizens of the earth, how are we taking care of it? Lights, Camera, Sparkle!
Taking Christmas to a whole new dimension, 1 Utama has constructed pop-up playrooms at the Ground Floor Centre Court. An exhibition of sorts, it is actually a connected space with five different playrooms within. Each room features a different experience, ranging from tinsel foil curtains, convex mirrors, LED light displays, reflective globes, and a warped mirage vault. And playroom it may be, but it is open to all members of the public regardless of age, and admission is free! Just a word of caution, people who suffer from epilepsy might want to sit this one out. To add on to the eclectic atmosphere, the floor is printed in psychedelic black and white.
Get Into the Festive Spirit!
1) Christmas Sing Along
Prove how you can be a star too by dancing to your special Christmas tunes! Simply scan their QR code , select your favorite Christmas song, and dance as the lights light up! Join in this event at the Ground Floor Highstreet Main Entrance.
2) Join The Aquaman Experience
You won’t be alone this Christmas when Aquaman joins you! In conjunction with the movie’s release on 13th December, visitors are welcome to take photos with the 8 feet tall Aquaman and Mere figurines. You can spot them at the Ground Floor Centre Court from the 1st till 25th December. Games and photo booth will be available too!
3) Like & Get Instant Christmas Photos
Simply like 1 Utama’s Facebook page and make your Christmas a merry one with 2 free instant photo prints by WePrint. This programme will take place at 1st Floor Oval for 3 days, from the 14th till 16th December. Additionally, if you follow 1 Utama’s Instagram page, you may take home personalized Christmas ornaments too!
Concurrently, stage shows and performances from various organizations will also be held throughout this month at Lower Ground / Ground Floor Centre Court. For more information, refer to 1 Utama’s website or social media.
