1) 1 Utama
Situated in Bandar Utama, Damansara, 1 Utama has an area of 5,174,000 square feet and has more than 1000 shops, 4 department stores, 2 supermarkets and 2 cinemas. 1 Utama has been in operation since 1995.
2) Sunway Pyramid
Sunway Pyramid is a mall as much as it is a landmark, thanks to its iconic sphinx-and-pyramid structure. Standing at 4,260,000 square feet, it has been in operation since 1997 and features an ice-skating rink.
3) Berjaya Times Square
Developed by the Berjaya Group, Berjaya Times Square is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Having more than 1000 shops and a total area of 3,400,000 square feet, it also features an indoor theme park.
4) Queensbay Mall
Located up north in Penang Island, Queensbay Mall has a total area of 2,500,000 square feet. Taking Seberang Perai (mainland Penang) into account, it is the largest mall in Penang and was opened in 2006.
5) AEON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre
The largest AEON mall in not just Malaysia but in Southeast Asia, AEON Bukit Tinggi is located in Klang. It has a total area of 2,200,000 square feet and more than 200 shops.
6) Mid Valley Megamall
Its name “megamall” should be indicator enough of its size; Mid Valley Megamall has a total area of 1,700,000 square feet. Located in Kuala Lumpur, it began operating in 1995.
7) Boulevard Shopping Mall
Located in Kuching, Sarawak of East Malaysia, Boulevard Shopping Mall has a total area of 1,700,000 square feet. It has more than 200 shops and is the “Largest, One-Stop Lifestyle Mall” in Sarawak.
8) MyTown Shopping Centre
Only opened recently two years ago, MyTown Shopping Centre has a total area of 1,500,000 square feet. It has more than 400 shops and is built alongside IKEA Cheras.
9) IOI City Mall
Also a rather recent mall, IOI City Mall only began operating in 2015. It actually has the same area as MyTown at 1,500,000 square feet, and also has more than 400 shops.
10) AEON Mall Shah Alam
Having opened in 2016, AEON Mall Shah Alam also has a total area of 1,500,000 square feet. It is located in Seksyen 13 of Shah Alam, has a four-season themed decoration and close to 200 shops.
