Being diagnosed with cancer can be one of the scariest things to hear in life. For some it might feel like the end is too close. However, it is important to stay strong and fight the diagnosis. Just like Navi Indran Pillai who actually defeated cancer twice and is now dancing to raise funds for her lifelong treatment.

Navi was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 at the young age of 22 years old. Being the strong person she is, she underwent treatment and successfully beat it after a year. She then went overseas to Australia to continue her studies.

Unfortunately, last year (2018) she discovered that her previous breast cancer was the type that spreads. This resulted in the cancer cells spreading to her liver and backbone. Determined to get the better of cancer, she underwent another series of treatment.

And of course she once again managed to kick cancer’s butt! Of course it took a toll on her as it was quite difficult having to battle cancer for a second time. But she stayed on course and found the strength within her.

Thankfully she is completely cancer-free now! Unfortunately, she still requires treatment in order to keep the cancer away. Furthermore, the treatment is quite pricey as most cancer related treatments are.

In an effort to keep the burden on her family at a minimum, she will be performing on stage and dancing to raise funds. Just to add, she has a background as a classical Indian dancer and was pursuing before her first diagnosis.
