Kam’s Roast is a popular Hong Kong restaurant that everyone knows for the famous roast goose. Kam Shui Wai who is the founder of Yung Kee Restaurant is the original chef behind this dish. However, in 2014 his grandson, Hardy Kam, decided to open up Kam’s Roast Goose after a family dispute.

Since 2015, the founding restaurant in Wanchai is known for its one star Michelin rating. Furthermore, they have held on to it for five consecutive years! Everyone who goes will always enjoy the succulent roast goose with its crispy skin. Unfortunately, this famous dish is only available in Hong Kong.

Instead, all overseas outlets replace the goose with duck due to difficulty in sourcing a reliable goose supplier. But don’t worry, the duck meat still goes through the same cooking process as the goose. Therefore, you will still have succulent meat with delicious crackling skin. Additionally, if the Kuala Lumpur outlet is similar to Singapore then we can expect to see Pipa duck, soy sauce chicken, and more.

Moving on, Kam’s Roast is partnering with 1855 F&B to open the Malaysian outlet in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. If the name sounds familiar it’s because they are also behind 1855 The Bottle Shop, Wakanui Grill Dining, Perch, and The Spot. Pavilion Kuala Lumpur revealed that Kam’s Roast will open before the end of the year! It will be located on the first floor next to Food Republic.

Despite the effects of Covid-19, it’s nice to see that F&B eateries are still opening their doors to us. Pavilion in particular seems to be a popular spot. In fact, just a few months ago Calia officially began serving their signature dishes.
