Well-known for where the national stadium is and now, for Pavilion Bukit Jalil as well, Bukit Jalil has seen an increase of hot spots and must-visit cafes for the pretty interiors and amazing food. Aesthetic cafes are aplenty but if you are in the vicinity of Bukit Jalil, here are 7 charming, cosy, and cool cafes for you to get a good meal in, great coffee and of course, the IG-worthy shots.

1. 源。Yuan

With warm tones, rattan and bamboo furniture and space that is wonderfully lit by natural lighting, 源。Yuan makes for a pleasant and cosy place to hang out. Dine on delicious home-cooked style Chinese dishes such as braised pork belly and ginger chicken. Located on the third floor opposite where Pavilion Bukit Jalil is, this modern minimalistic café also offers yummy cakes and pastries along with hand brewed coffee and tea. The warm ambience is a wonderful background for pretty pics as well!

2. Owlsome by The Owls Cafe

The Owls family of cafes continue to expand with another one in the compounds of the Calvary Convention Centre. The Owlsome by The Owls Café is brightly lit with floor to ceiling windows, chic marble interior and seats that look out into the garden. With a menu that consists of sandwiches, pastries and desserts, customers can enjoy a quiet brunch or tea with their loved ones within the comfy space. The sandwiches are particularly interesting – you should definitely check out Still Life (white bread, potato egg mayo, cabbage crabmeat slaw with pink sauce, and strawberry jam) and A Little Bit Of Egg (their version of the classic egg sandwich).

A super cute café that features Totoro as its mascot, Peekaboo café can be found at Arked Esplanad in Bukit Jalil. Share your table with the many Totoro plushies and snap some pics with the Totoro decorations in the café. For food, choose from a variety of breakfast, main course, and pasta dishes to fill your tummy. Pair your meal with your choice of coffee, tea, cold pressed juice or kombucha and complete it with some sweet treats in the form of croffles or cheesecake. All these while overlooking the park and soothing music in your ears!

4. Scoby Coffee & Booch

If you are a fan of kombucha, this is a café you must visit when you are in Bukit Jalil. Good news to all furry friends as well – Scoby Coffee and Booch is pet-friendly! Bring your pet on a date to Malaysia’s first kombucha café, indoor and outdoor seating are available, and your fur kid get a free puppycino as well. Other than kombucha, they serve a selection of rice bowls, pasta and western dishes but what caught my eye are their delectable cookies and tarts! Those with a sweet tooth would find themselves at home here too.

European opulence and grandeur greet you when you walk through the doors of Cafe Ame Soeur! The space may be small but the gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and extravagant mirrors that line the walls make you feel otherwise. Talk about a good spot to take your IG pictures – every inch of this place is the perfect background. People might even be led to believe that you are somewhere in Europe instead. This boutique café offers affordable lunch sets and other western dishes. And you must try their Signature Belgium Coffee which is brewed in a very unique way!

6. Stopover

Only a five-minute walk from Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Stopover café gives off a calm and tranquil vibe with their minimalist interior and warm lighting. Take a breather and stop over (see what I did there 😏) for a cup of good coffee and scrumptious pastries or desserts on the weekend before you rush back into another hectic week. 7. CO2 Coffee Bar

A testament to how not easy it was to locate the café; they have a map on their social media to show customers where they are in Pavilion Bukit Jalil. It’s not their fault, the mall is huge! I took a while to look for it too – a little tip for you, head to the Pink Zone on level 3 and walk towards the entrance that is opposite Inside Scoop. You should see CO2 Coffee Bar on your right. Instantly IG-worthy with its white aesthetic, coffee lovers will be interested to try the drinks they have to offer. Their ’cofftails’ or coffee mocktails are combinations of coffee and various types of fruits and spices. At night, they turn into a cocktail bar, serving various coffee concoctions that are made with alcohol!
