Hasbro Is Opening Their FIRST EVER Theme Park In Melaka!

I’m sure that all of us have grown up with Hasbro being a big part of our childhood. With iconic toys and games like My Little Pony, Transformers, Monopoly, and even Jenga, Hasbro has really left an impact during our younger years.

Hasbro Indoor Water Theme Park

As of last year, Hasbro announced plans for its first ever indoor water park and family resort. The park and resort will be themed around some of the biggest toy and game franchises from the toy company. It’s like Disneyland but better because it’s going to be here in Malaysia!

And now the plans are slowly becoming reality. It is officially confirmed that the world’s FIRST EVER Hasbro-themed water park and family resort is opening here. It will be opening at Meridian’s Malaysia Tourism City (MTC) development in Kuala Linggi, Melaka. This is through a Hasbro licensing agreement that is secured by M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd.

M101 Holdings is a private entity of Meridian Bhd executive director Datuk Seth Yap. He has signed a licensing agreement with Hasbro Live! (Hasbro) regional director Natalie Chan. Both of them signed the agreement during the official launch of the 622-acre MTC.

The themed water park is going to be an iconic branded attraction acting as an essential base at the core of the MTC master plan. This really exciting attraction is going to be 20 acres in size and is offering a huge range of rides that are not available in other parks of the world. Imagine riding a giant My Little Pony or climbing up a giant Bumblebee. That sounds pretty cool.

How Much and When?

In an effort to stay cost friendly, the theme park is going to be built within a budget of less than $20 million. Despite the smaller budget, the theme park is promising to be unique with an enjoyable Hasbro brand experience. I guess you don’t always have to pay a big price for lots of fun.

Before you start packing your bags, hold on to your horses. The water theme park is only in the first phase of the MTC development which is expected to begin by the end of 2019. This phase is also including a weekend market and adventure park. Hasbro’s water theme park is only expected to open its doors in 2022. Hopefully, it really will be worth the wait!
