Fire Destroys 30 Bazaar Stalls At Jalan Masjid India

In the early hours of Tuesday, 21st of May, a fire broke out at Jalan Masjid India. As a result, 30 bazaar stalls were affected and completely burnt down. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the incident in a Facebook post here.


Firemen received an emergency call at 1.35am and reached the scene in front of Wisma Yakin at 1.44am. Fortunately, he firemen reported from Sentul, Hang Tuah, and Pudu Fire and Rescue Stations. Therefore, it was quite a large team responding to the fire.

After successfully putting out the fire at 2.04am, 30 stalls were reported as having burnt down in the flames. These stalls are popular for selling garments, bags, and shoes.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigations. Jalan Masjid India’s bazaar is quite popular for those buying essentials during Ramadan. However, with such a big lost, many customers won’t be able to get their shopping done there. Currently there is no news on how long repairs will take.
