Resto-bars are really just a bar-style restaurant or restaurant-like bar, according to Wiktionary. Wiktionary also describes resto-bars as an establishment that resembles both a bar and a restaurant. What really appeals to me about resto-bars are the simple fact that you get good-quality food, huge variety of alcoholic beverages and a comfortable setting where you can relax and hang out with your friends and loved ones.

Check out these 7 resto-bars in the Petaling Jaya area the next time you want to spend time and hang out with your buddies!

1. Vintry @ Oasis Damansara

As part of the Vintry Group of restaurants, wine bars and retails outlets, Vintry @ Oasis Damansara is one of three Vintry wine bar and restaurant in the PJ and KL area. Overlooking the water fountains and the promenade, this is the perfect place for a casual catch-up with old friends or a weeknight drink in a quiet environment. The rustic, wood-accented environment, a huge selection of reasonably priced wines, and delectable food (especially their roast pork!) are the reasons customers continue to patronise the establishment.

4. Mrs Barr Gastrobar

Mrs Barr Gastrobar is an Indian-fusion gastrobar featuring delicious cuisine and mouth-watering drinks. They have only recently opened their doors, so the reviews are mixed. However, most people did agree that the food is amazing – some of the popular dishes are mutton varuval, chilli prawn pizza, sunken scallops in sothi, brinjal yoghurt milk curry and many more. The menu also extends to tapas, main courses, and ala carte dishes. The highlight and the reason you must visit is the amazing time you’ll have with the Indian live bands and DJ that play every Friday and Saturday while on Sunday, the live band plays old school retro music to relax the customers before the Monday blues hit.
