In Malaysia lorongs are more than just a street for us to walk through because they also serve as spots for activities. This includes wet markets, food courts, and a variety of interesting landmarks.

One such lorong is Madras Lane which is located in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur. In this bustling Chinatown alleyway you will be delighted to discover a variety of food stalls. In fact, you will be spoilt for choice in choosing from all the delicious chinese dishes.

Moving on, Madras Lane will be receiving a small makeover this weekend and all thanks go to DBKL, Citi Foundation, and Think City. The aim of Lorong Fest is to reintroduce Madras Lane’s rich heritage to new audiences to encourage sustainable and vibrant local economy.

Furthermore, the transformation is inspired by the popular Madras Cinema that unfortunately burned down in 1978. It was one of the earliest movie house in KL and was popular for showing Chinese movies.
