If you’re like one of us (the 80 babies), you will remember racing home from school to catch one of these anime series on TV. Recollecting that memory, here are 9 Japanese Anime Series that we all loved during our childhood. To be honest, I still find them awesome to watch until today.

1) Ultraman series

All Ultramans in our era were usually in red-and-silver color with glowing yellow “salted-egg” eyes. They were able to fire energy beams at their own unique postures but the most popular move would of course be the T-crossing-hands gesture.

2) Dragonball Z

Dragon Ball Z featured the adventures of Son Goku who, along with his companions, defends the Earth against aliens or outer space villains ranging from intergalactic space fighters and conquerors, unnaturally powerful androids and nearly indestructible magical creatures. Son Goku’s signature finishing techniques or moves were “kame-hameha” and big “ki” ball.

During her journey, she led a diverse group of comrades, the Sailor Soldiers (Sailor Guardians in later editions) to battle against the villains to prevent the theft of the Silver Crystal and the destruction of the Solar System.

4) Doraemon

The story was about a factory rejected robotic kitten, Doraemon, who was sent back by the great-great-grandchild of Nobita to improve the lifestyle of Nobita so that his descendants may enjoy a better future. Doraemon was known for his small but limitless space pocket where he stored all kinds of gadgets that he bought from the future. The story was surrounded majorly by 4 characters who were Nobita – the one who was always lazy and got bullied, Shizuka – the sweet and hardworking little girl, Takeshi goda (Gian) the bully and Suneo Honekawa – the arrogant rich kid who always show off.

7) Crayon Sin Chan

The story featured the adventures of the five-year-old kinder garden boy Shinnosuke Shin Nohara (Shin-chan) and his parents, baby sister, dog, neighbours, and friends. Shin-chan’s antics were the basis for the series. He loves “Chocobi” chocolate biscuits and TV superhero named “Action Kamen”; hates green peppers and think that they are smelly. He loves changing proper words to another word that is improper at that situation.
