4) Mezcla Burritos @ USJ, Subang Jaya

True to its name, Mezcla means business when comes to serving tasty and fulfilling burritos. You can pick regular burritos such as Spiced Grilled Chicken, Braised Lamb or Baja Fish, but the real deal would be their Mix It Up varieties. That means you have the freedom to customise your own burrito. All you have to do is pick your burrito type (tortilla wrap or bowl) and followed by protein (e.g. grilled chicken, beef steak, braised lamb). Next up is choose your base (rice/beans), toppings (e.g. corn, fajitas, tomato salsa), dressing (e.g. hot sauce, jalapeno sauce, sour cream) and extras (e.g. cheese, nachos). And just so you know, the name of their burrito bar literally means “mix it up”. That explains their signature menu item in the first place.

5) Órale @ Damansara Uptown

The word “Órale” in their name is a Mexican slang commonly described to express enthusiastic response such as “right on” or “hell yes”. And this is where Órale aims to achieve: good Tex-Mex foods using quality ingredients at an affordable price. For burritos, there are plenty of delectable choices such as Abeula’s Pulled Beef Barbacoa (slow-cooked pulled beef with smoky tomato flavour) and Carne Asada (grilled tortilla and a 24-hour marinated steak). Each burrito is rolled with lime (brown) rice, black beans, cabbage, sour cream & roasted tomato salsa in a 12″ flour tortilla. Not into tortillas? Pick a burrito bowl instead.
