7 Places To Enjoy Scrumptious Thick Toast In Klang Valley

Gone are the days where the French Toast is only restricted to the standard egg batter-and-honey variety. Sure, you still can get those good ol’ classic toast in many cafes. But there is more to it, which in this case, the thick and fluffy toast varieties that are served with plenty of toppings like berries, whipped cream and ice cream. We have gathered five different places in alphabetical order on where you can satisfy your craving for scrumptious thick toast around the Klang Valley area.


1) Caffe Bene (Various Locations)

This popular South Korea-based cafe chain needs no introduction, having been around since 2008 before making their Malaysian debut in 2014. They specialise in coffee, bingsu, Bene Pastry selections and… not to forget their signature honey toast varieties — the sweet Caramel Cinnamon and the savoury Garlic & Cheese. Take your pick.

2) Duchess Cafe (Dataran C180, Cheras)

The cafe certainly lives up to its name, complete with a posh blue theme and Instagram-worthy decor. They serve various dishes ranging from the main course to dessert like waffles and honey toast. Dessert lovers will be pleased that Duchess Cafe use Haagen-Dazs ice cream as the main topping for their honey toast selections.

3) Haraju-Cube (Empire Damansara, Sunway Pyramid & SS15 Subang Jaya)

Haraju-Cube has been around since 2015, serving the likes of sliced toast, sandwiches and their main speciality — the Shibuya-style honey toast. Their honey toast selection is undeniably thick and filling. So, don’t be surprised if you can’t finish it all by yourself unless of course, you happen to be a big eater (hey, there’s nothing wrong with that!). After all, the honey toast is made for sharing between at least 2 to 3 people. Each toast comes with different toppings, ice cream flavours and whipped cream. Despite the name, this Puchong-based cafe isn’t just about coffee and toast. They also serve other dishes like pasta, sandwiches and mixed salads. But let’s talk about their thick toast — or more specifically, honey toast — varieties instead. You can opt for classic honey toast or something fanciful and filling such as their “Strawberry Chocolate Toast” and “Banana Chocolate Toast”. Each toast comes complete with a generous serving of ice cream and whipped cream on the side.

5) Miru Dessert Cafe (Damansara Utama & Pavilion KL)

Miru Dessert Cafe specialises in Shibuya honey toast and kakigori (Japanese shaved ice dessert). But it was their toast that made them a hit among many customers. You will find plenty of varieties here including the original Shibuya honey toast and other toppings like cheddar cheese, chocolate banana and pandan coconut. You can also choose to add-on extra toppings such as ice cream and toasted marshmallow.

6) Pretz N’ Beanz (Mont Kiara)

Sure, this Mont Kiara cafe is known for their signature pretzel varieties. But they also serve thick toass as well, with irresistible options like “Double Cheese Honey” and “Caramel Butter”.

7) VCR Cafe (Jalan Galloway, KL & Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar)

VCR Cafe is more than just a go-to cafe for its artisan coffee varieties. The cafe is no slouch either when comes to serving dessert as well. One of them is their otherwise generic-named “French Toast” using the buttery brioche toast as the base. They combine an eclectic mix of toppings that gives you a bittersweet taste with the likes of raspberry compote, mocha sauce and espresso ice cream.
