Now that the lockdown restrictions have been significantly reduced, we definitely deserve a break from all that we have endured. Here are 5 relaxing spas in KL & Selangor to get a dose of rejuvenation and tranquillity to keep you going for the remaining of the year.
1) Qi Odyssey
If you are feeling a little low on your qi (life force), head over to Qi Odyssey in Tropicana Gardens Mall (they have Bangsar and Damansara outlets coming soon) for a relaxing massage and a hot foot soak to melt all your stress away. Prices start as low as RM68 for a 30-minute half-body massage, top up RM10 to include a foot soak. You can also choose bath bombs infused with essential oil to add into your foot soak. Self-proclaimed as the first reflexology slash teahouse in Malaysia, there is a food and beverage menu you can order from. You can find local snacks as small bites and a variety of teas and even kombucha to accompany your session there.

2) Khareyana Spa
An unexpected location to find a Balinese Spa, this oasis of calm and rejuvenation can be found in Petaling Jaya. Step away from a busy and hectic life and step into a sanctuary of tropical trees and a picturesque water garden where you can unwind and be pampered from head to toe. Indeed, their spa packages comprised of a foot spa, body massage and even face massage. They also offer spa packages for 2 pax, so couples are more than welcome too. The spa has a free parking space so you don’t have to worry about all that while getting your massage. At the time of writing this, even their December slots are fully booked which is not surprising! Thankfully, there are a few more spas on this list.

3) Urban Retreat Onsen Spa
Literally immerse yourself in healing and relaxation at Urban Retreat Onsen Spa where you can experience an authentic Japanese bath spa. Their Onsen Escape recreates the Onsen experience where you can soak in mineral-rich crystalline powders that were extracted directly from Japan’s renowned onsen springs. You can even choose your onsen salt — iyashi for healing, zen for calmness and kirei for beauty. At RM129 for 45 minutes, I must say that sounds like a very good deal. They also offer massages and spa treatments, or you could also get the day package where you can choose from a variety of treatments to fully pamper and enjoy yourself.

4) Ozmosis Health & Day Spa
With two outlets to choose from, you can head to the one at Ascott KLCC or the one in Bangsar depending on which is the nearest to you. 5) Uroot Spa
A play on the Malay word ‘urut’ which means massage, Uroot Spa is run by the same company as Urban Retreat Onsen Spa. But Uroot Spa is a boutique spa that specialises in local techniques that will restore balance and rejuvenate your body and mind. With one outlet in Arcoris Mont Kiara and another in Marc KLCC, it sounds like the perfect place to go to after a long day at work. You can enjoy a 40-minute head and shoulder masssage for RM79 or opt for the relaxing sleep massage that promises to promote sleep, relieve stress and increase relaxation.
