You’ve finally gotten your own space, and can’t wait to decorate, personalise, and make it truly your own! While there are a lot of furniture and home decor items available out there for your selection, a lot of them could be mass produced, or too common. In order to stand out and showcase your personality through your home decor, there’s only one place to go: The Godown.

About The Godown

Founded in 2012, The Godown is a stylised, contemporary warehouse-like space featuring a wide range of lifestyle home decor, from refund discoveries to new contemporary furnishings and home accessories. Historically, “godowns” were warehouse spaces in East Asia during the Industrial Revolution of the 19th and 20th centuries. These spaces were used for loading and unloading go foods in transition to and from all over the world. With this concept, The Godown brings home decor pieces through a collection of unique items found from all over the world to you.

The Godown Lifestyle

At The Godown, they hope to promote sustainability and appreciation of craftsmanship by using high-quality sustainable materials that can last beyond a lifetime. By sharing with their customers how to use these items to furnish their homes, they hope to impart this “green” lifestyle known as THE GODOWN lifestyle. Audrey Lee, the founder, started to source for these eco-friendly items overseas when she found that she couldn’t find them here, and at a friend’s suggestion, she decided to launch The Godown featuring these items. Audrey is joined by Terri Tong recently, where they both used to work together at Limited Edition Furniture about two decades ago. Terri has a background in graphic design, and possesses a keen eye for detail. With this reconnaissance, it’s like no time has passed for them, and they’re working for a bright future ahead as a team.

Exclusive & Unique

Audrey herself has a soft spot for unique, quirky, well-crafted vintage items, and has a passion in turning someone else’s trash into another person’s treasure. Europe in particular is a treasure trove for her, and she spends lots of time there on treasure hunts for The Godown. Therefore, most pieces at The Godown at “one-off” pieces, with the motto “Here Now Gone Tomorrow”. Other than these sourced items, they also have decorative or functional items unique to The Godown, with some designed in house. As such, they have made a name for themselves for being different from the rest, and customers visit them for a specific reason, knowing what they will find at The Godown. Interior designers, architects, vintage and antique collectors all flock to The Godown, as do those who are looking for a unique shopping experience or gift.

However, The Godown’s suppliers and customers are a loyal bunch, and they stick to The Godown, providing them with what she needs as well as positive feedback.
