A Piece of Home and Pride

Steady in Motion was a piece created two years ago that centered around the founder’s uprooting from Malaysia, the place I called ‘home’. It was around the time that Jamie, the founder had decided to pursue constructing a life in America. This meant leaving aspects of familiarity like my family and hometown comforts behind.

The piece features vignettes of places around Asia (mostly Malaysia, Vietnam and Japan) that hold significant memories for her. In fact, it was so notable so that they often appear in dreams. The imagery reflects how she now feel about visions of Malaysia – despite being her birthplace, it is now equally as foreign and mysterious to me. Therefore, she very proud of this piece for not only representing who she is as an artist. Importantly, how she culturally identify herself as a person after years of wandering around the world.

Achieving Greater Visual Heights

Jamie plans to continue challenging herself to constantly explore and learn new technology. In addition, she is exploring pioneering her own skills that she can incorporate into future original works. Although she has worked with tools like virtual reality and projection-mapping, she is still encountering new software and better solutions to building seamless experiences. In this sense, she takes pride in being more of a creative wheelhouse because she is able to problem-solve efficiently with an arsenal of knowledge. Furthermore, she hopes to release more original content on cultural identity and immigration – a topic of particular interest that can be seen in many of her works.

“Ask, ask, ask – for by asking, there is power, and power is clarity. The Phrase embeds in my persona by way of incurable curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. My achievements are the product of my passion to seek answers and apply solutions.

Owning a business does come with a steep learning curve. Hence, with every success comes with many, many missteps. I am beginning to embrace the failures more each day as I continuously fortify my company’s infrastructure and dogma. Challenge yourself to defy expectations and exceed what you think you already know. The more there is to learn, the more room there is for growth.”
