There’s no denying that the right tattoo can look incredibly cool, whether it’s a small symbol on your foot/neckor a large tattoo across the arm/chest. Nevertheless, as getting inked is permanent, picking the right tattoo artist is important to ensure that the final design is up to your expectation. Here’s where 8 Volts Tattoo comes in.
Introducing 8 Volts Tattoo
“Tattooing is not just a business, tattooing is an art that lives on our skin.” says Joe of 8 Volts. At 8 Volts Tattoo, every single tattoo is customised according to the customer’s preference and lifestyle. Customers will spend hours having discussions on designs and details even talking about choosing the right colours for their individual skin tones. While clients tell 8 Volts Tattoo about their ideas, the artist at 8 Volts will come up with his vision for it. These are the daily exciting challenges that the artist takes on and is passionate about. 8 Volts Tattoo’s specialities in tattooing are oriental and western traditional tattoos.
History of 8 Volts Tattoo
8 Volts Tattoo was founded in June 2007, and Joe Wang, the founder of 8 Volts has been tattooing full time since 2005. The shop was set up by Joe and his wife in 2007. While Joe is based in Singapore, he spends half of his time travelling around Europe and sometimes Australia for international Tattoo Conventions where he has been a guest spot for more than 8 years now.
Getting A Mark On Guinness
Joe is one of the tattoo artists who holds a Guinness world record for the most people tattooed simultaneously at tattoo jam in the year 2010. Besides, he has also been featured in international tattoo magazines while winning 9 awards till date from tattoo competitions in Norway, Denmark and Germany. Joe is also very honoured to collaborate with a luxury brand, Montblanc (Singapore) in 2015, tattooing their leather products during their 3 day events.
The Plan To Make His Next Mark
8 Volts Tattoo will be 10 years old next year! Besides, they have another sister brand, The Sugar Fox, selling Tattoo Inspired accessories, pins and kids clothing. Joe hopes to spend more time in Singapore to finish his current big tattoo projects and hopes that he can start a full bodysuit project on a lady as the majority of his clients are men. It is something he would love to achieve and have in his portfolio.
Always chase your dreams, never stop dreaming because the most wonderful things in life will happen and can happen.
— Joe Wang, founder of 8 Volts Tattoo
