As the first Lego theme park of its kind in Asia, Legoland Malaysia was launched in September, 2012. Conveniently located in Johor, which is near Singapore, Legoland has been attracting visitors from many nearby countries and some of them happen to be big Lego fans. It’s a fun place to visit and if you are not convinced, here are the 7 highlights and things to do at Legoland.

1) 7 Special Lego Themes

The park is divided into 7 distinct themes. The three rides with the biggest thrills are Project X from Lego Technic, The Dragon from Lego Kingdom and Dino Land from Land of Adventure. Smack in the middle of park is MINILAND, where 17 regions from Malaysia and around the region come to life through lego blocks.

2) The Legoland Hotel

While you have to pay to enter the Legoland theme park, it’s free to visit its hotel. Located just outside of the theme park, this hotel has been built on a Legoland design. There are legos everywhere and there are the occasional Lego characters that walk around the hotel lobby.

The water park at Legoland comes with its own price tag, but if you want to go to both, you can just buy a premium ticket. The water park is quite big with a lot of attractions for people of all ages. The slides would be the highlight of the water park and are the most fun.

6) Thrill at Dino Island

Dino Island has the only ride in the theme park that gets you wet. It starts off in a river cruise design and goes up to the peak of the water fall and the only way out is a sheer drop from the 12 metre high waterfall.

7) Miniland

For some, especially the lego fans, Miniland would probably be the coolest place of all in the theme park. It’s also quite a marvel for fans of architecture to admire. Miniland has some of the beautiful and famous buildings and monuments around the world in the form of lego blocks. More than 30 million lego blocks were used to create these landmarks and movable creations.
