Yes, you read that right. Soon, there will be no more Gap stores in Malaysia as Gap Malaysia announced a nationwide store closure.

When?

After an announcement on its Facebook page in January, two stores have since shut down. The Queensbay Mall outlet ceased operations on 4th February, and the Pavilion outlet on 7th February. On 9th February, Gap Malaysia posted again that its remaining two stores in One Utama and the Gardens Mall too, will be closed down. However, the exact closing dates have yet to be announced.

Why?

Gap sales worldwide have been declining in recent years, and Gap Inc. announced in September 2017 that it will be closing down 200 stores worldwide.

What Should I Do?

Head down to Gap stores immediately, of course! Why not grab a new year outfit or two there? Maybe you’ve had your eye on something for some time now, but it was too expensive? Don’t worry, because the remaining stores are now having clearance sales of up to 80% off! Hurry now and grab your most coveted Gap pieces before they’re all gone!
