Sharing on the inspiration behind this year’s mooncake offerings, Lio Lim, CDLC’s Managing Director enthused, “We were stoked by the overwhelming response for our mooncakes last year, which sold out almost a month before the festival. We are super grateful and this year, we have upped the ante because our discerning clientele deserves even better. For 2021, our mooncakes are conceptualised to tell the story and legends of the Mid-Autumn Festival. We want to share the tradition with our clientele with a delicious modern twist in taste, and therefore each piece of mooncake is unique in design and flavour profile as it represents a different key component of the story. For example, one of our mooncakes is called ‘Hou Yi the Archer’ and as we savour the taste of it, we can also learn that he was the brave archer who saved humanity by shooting down nine scorching suns simply by referring to the modern-ancient illustrations on our mooncake box.”
