Officially opened on 2 May 2014, KLIA2 Terminal is one of the busiest airports in Asia, if not in the world. Designed to cater up to 45 million passenger a year, most of us should have been to or flown from KLIA2 by now. Here are 5 things everyone can relate to every time when you are at KLIA2.
1) The dreadful baggage drop queue
“But I have checked in and I’m just dropping my baggage” you would be thinking. Unfortunately, at KLIA2 the queue for baggage drop can still be dreadful, especially during the holiday season.
2) The very longgg walk
KLIA2 is a test for people who lack exercise because of the long distance of walk required to get from one point to the other. If you are flying off from or landing at Pier Q (see below pic), brace yourself.
3) No bottled water for sale after custom
Wish to buy bottled water after custom? We wish you good luck finding it. If you ever notice, there’s no bottled mineral water for sale after custom in KLIA2, only water in plastic cups. Guess why.
4) The ‘elevated’ walkalator
Only at KLIA2 you’ll find walkalator that is elevated from the ground. Not sure if it’s just me – the elevated-walkalator takes additional effort just to get on to it.
5) Slow baggage claim
I’m sure many of you would agree, baggage claim at KLIA2 is definitely not the most efficient. And the fact that they use the same belt for few flights when there are plenty of empty carousels is annoying.
