Kampung Quest’s story started with two entrepreneurial brothers, Feisal and Iskander Azizuddin, who are passionate about film-making and reality shows. The independently-produced Malaysian adventure reality show brings together 10 unique individuals in a picturesque ‘kampung retreat’ where they will be physically, mentality and socially challenged.

About the Show

Feisal came up with the concept in May 2013 and started to produce the show in June 2013. The show features 10 Malaysians, called Urbanites. They will be battling it out in challenges, called ‘Quests’. Subsequently, one of the contestants will get eliminated each night.

On a daily basis, the Urbanites will face challenges to test their wit and mettle as well as contend with the social dramas attached when living with fellow competitors. They will have to adapt to a lifestyle never imagined before; endure physical, mental and social obstacles to outlast one another.

The Journey of Kampung Quest

The first season of Kampung Quest only had a budget of RM10,000 to source for contestants, production and manpower. It was filmed by a ragtag crew of 6 people and subsequently picked up for broadcast by HyppTV in October 2014.

After receiving good responses from the viewers, Kampung Quest was renewed for Season 2. This time with a bigger budget. With a bigger team of 12, the show was filmed across Malaysia in 3 different locations. This season comprises bigger challenges and more sophisticated game mechanisms. Season 2 had a limited release on a private server and then subsequently aired on YouTube end 2015.
