As per the founder, this restaurant is all about bringing back the bygone era and the beautiful memories that were attached to it. It serves authentic Penang Nyonya cuisine that is prepared with the finest ingredients available in the right way, which is the traditional Nyonya way. The food is authentic as the Nyonya cuisine gets as it comes from the founder’s grandmother’s recipes that were passed down to generations after her. Not only does this restaurant have the best Nyonya food, it also has the best recreated Peranakan ambience. The furniture in this restaurant comes from the founders’ own collection of Baba & Nyonya furniture. The Birth of LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen

The restaurant’s owner had this dream of opening a Nyonya restaurant for over 10 years. Ck Leo, the founder, along with his brother/co-founder, Alain, were looking forward to bringing back the Peranakan era in the form of a Nyonya restaurant. This dream of theirs were sentimentally attached with fond memories of their grandfather.

The founders had their hearts in the right place when it came to the creation of LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen, as they did everything wholeheartedly with warm hospitality. This resulted in returning customers who never stop spreading compliments about LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen.

LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen managed to stamp a presence today because of the experience that it provides to its customers from all over Malaysia. The word of mouth of satisfied customers ensured that more and more people became aware of this gem of Nyonya cuisine.

What Makes LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen Special

A lot of hard work has gone into making LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen the special restaurant that it is known for today. No idea or design was spared for this process, as the founders wanted to leave no stone unturned to ensure that the outcome was exactly what they had dreamt about.

Aside from ensuring that the food was going to be the tastiest Nyonya cuisine ever, the founders also decided on having Baba & Nyonya furniture in the restaurant to complete the old Penang heritage house atmosphere that they had in mind for the restaurant.

In a bid to be different from other restaurants these days, LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen does not provide WiFi to its customers. The reason being that the founders want the customers to interact and enjoy the atmosphere that LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen provides instead of being glued to their mobiles or tablets. “It’s the best way to have people enjoy what they are paying for, which is the Nyona cuisine accompanied by a Peranakan ambience.” says the founder.

On some occasions, the restaurant offers lady diners who dress in sarong kebaya a complimentary dessert for upholding the Baba and Nyonya culture. Today, the result of the founders’ hard work is evident having been voted No. 1 on TallyPress by its loyal customers.

Watch Out For LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen In The Future

The founders of LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen have plans to expand their restaurant to not only South East Asia, but to also several places around the world. They are also looking forward to making this restaurant’s abode into a large heritage mansion, so that LHH Straits Chinese Kitchen can welcome more guests and hosts big events, like especially for weddings, event launches and cooperate functions. More and more steps are going to be taken to make sure people know more about the Nyonya culture.
