Finding Hermo

Hermo was founded in June 2012. The business was founded by 2 co-founders, Ian Chua & PS Chong who had no prior experience in this venture. They found that there is a gap in the market for women’s beauty products and there were very little successful Malaysian-made e-commerce websites, so they decided to build a venture by Malaysian. A year later, Ian Mok joined the team as a COO and with his experience in business management, it was definitely crucial in helping with the business process & growth. From a simple team of consisting of 3 males, the team has now grown to about 50-strong and is continuing to grow! It is also interesting to note that one of our founders, Ian Chua, was named as one of Forbes’ 30-Under-30 Entrepreneurs 2016 for the Retail & E-Commerce category.

Growing Hermo

Last year, they have managed to receive $2m in funding from Gobi Partners to continue building the business. They have also partnered with big industry players such as L’Oreal Malaysia last year to bring our business to another level. They are also very proud to announce that Hermo Singapore was officially launched on 15th March this year! They are determined to grow the Singapore market and establish an office in Indonesia in the near future to ultimately become the biggest beauty e-commerce retailer in South East Asia.
